Human Rights Commissioner Elmira Suleymanova appealed to the Ministry of Justice with a request to examine the state of health of the convicted adviser to the Chairman of the Popular Front Party Mammad Ibrahim. Turan was informed about this by Mammad Ibrahim’s son.

Suleymanova’s letter is addressed to Rafail Mehdiyev, head of the Main Medical Directorate of the Ministry of Justice. Ombudswoman, basing on the appeal of Mammad Ibrahim”s son to her, asks to examine and provide treatment for the activist.

According to his son, Mammad Ibrahim lost his sight for one eye. His relatives fear that if timely measures are not taken, then the oppositionist can lose his sight completely.

Mammad Ibrahim has been imprisoned for 2 years and 10 months on charges of hooliganism. Until the end of his term there is two months. He rejected the accusations and called them politically motivated. Human rights activists recognize him as a political prisoner.
