Four chairpersons of civil society organizations  participated in Exchange program-one week in capital city Sofia. Elchin Abdullayev, the chairperson of Democratic Institutions and Human Rights Social Union, also was among the  particpants.

Exchange program was financially supported by Open Society Institute Assistance Foundation and the aim of the program was to study the innovative approaches in the Bulgarian Healthcare system and to compare their practice with Azerbaijan’s healthcare system.

In the framework of exchange program civil society representatives visited to Open Society Bulgarian Office,  Ministry of Healthcare, Center for protection of rights in healthcare (NGO), Multi-profile hospital for active treatment “Sv. Bogorodica”, Program Access to Public Information, National health insurance fund, International institute of healthcare and Health Insurance, Bulgarian medical association, Parliamentary commission on healthcare, Federation Bulgarian Patients’ Forum, and Ombudsman office.

 All meetings was organized by the Center for protection of rights in healthcare (NGO), the partner organization of Democratic Institutions and Human Rights Social Union. Azerbaijani Civil Society representatives also visited Smolyan city to talk to community regarding the advantages and disadvantages of healthcare system of Bulgaria.

As the consequence of this exchange program, civil society representatives will prepare analytical report regarding Bulgarian Healthcare System and its comporsions with Azerbaijan’s one.
