New Initiative appeared to make amendments to the Administrative Code of Mistakes regarding NGO activities in Azerbaijan. Local news webpage “Media forum” has published information about this issue referring to President Administration. According to news web site this initiative project was prepared in the President Administration and signed by President to send to parliament to be discussed. The new amendments consider to involve Legal and physical persons to obligatory audit.  If persons refuse obligatory audit then they would be fined by 500 to 2500 mantas.

Azay Guliyev, Deputy of parliament and also Chairman of council of State Support to Non-governmental Organizations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan commenting new amendments said that obligatory audit will make obstacles for the NGO activities in Azerbaijan. He explained that NGOs work with donor organizations within in the framework of projects and donors don’t pay them money for the audit.

It’s expected that the amendments will be sent back to President Administration to revise it regarding NGO part.
